Robin Tauck is a travel business leader and philanthropist. She is an industry advocate and spokesperson for economic development through global tourism, authentic cultural experiences, and public private partnerships. She works to protect environmental and cultural heritage through the promotion of sustainable tourism.

Robin is a co-owner and the former president and CEO of Tauck, Inc., a leading, third-generation global travel company offering luxury land, small ship cruising, river boating, event, and safari travel since its founding by her grandfather in 1925. During her 35-year career, along with her family-led organization and team, Robin helped expand Tauck’s operations into 70 countries across all seven continents. She is the recipient of numerous industry and leadership awards and will be honored as a “2015 Global Impact Honoree” by the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame in November of 2015 in Hartford.

Robin created Tauck’s “World of Giving” in 1998, an extensive philanthropic program that has developed over 80 grants and led extensive volunteer events throughout the United States. Tauck’s work with the U.S. National Park Service was recognized by President George W. Bush and received the Preserve America Presidential Award, the country’s highest honor for historic preservation.

Robin is a long-standing board member of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and serves on the Tourism for Tomorrow strategy committee. She is an elected U.S. Commissioner to UNESCO, an advisory body to the U.S. State Department, where she focuses on UNESCO World Heritage Sites and public private partnerships. She is a member of the executive committee of Tourism Cares, the largest non-profit in the U.S. travel industry and chairs the organization’s Global Impact Portfolio.

In addition, Robin is the founder and president of Tauck Ritzau Innovative Philanthropy (TRIP), a private family foundation that supports cultural organizations working to create economic development and improve quality of life. She is also a board member of the Tauck Family Foundation, a family non-profit focused on educational capacity building and youth development in Bridgeport, CT.

Robin is a graduate of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Program and the University of Cambridge’s Sustainability Leadership Program. She holds a BA in Business from the University of Vermont, where she was honored with the Legacy of Leadership Award and founded the Entrepreneurship and Family Business Initiative at the UVM School of Business. She lives in Westport, Connecticut, and New York City.
